PREPARING FOR THE LESSON PLAN
Personal Goals

Take some time to develop a short set of goals for yourself over the course of the ATTS trip. These goals are for you outside the many hats that you wear – parent, teacher, caregiver, and educator.

Professional Goals

Now set a few goals for yourself as a professional with Muse Machine. What would you like to gain from this experience?

Ask Big Questions

Reflecting on both your personal and professional goals above, you’ll probably notice that there are certain things that you will need in order to accomplish them. Write down a few big questions that you will need to answer to gain knowledge and expertise that you will need.

What Is an Essential Question?

A good essential question is...

  • Open-ended. It typically will not have a single, final and correct answer.

  • Thought-provoking and intellectually engaging, often sparking discussion and debate.

  • Not effectively answered by recall alone, but engages higher-order thinking, such as analysis, inference, evaluation, prediction.

  • Transdisciplinary and cross-curricular in its scope.

  • A spark to further inquiry.

  • Not satisfied with just an answer, but requires support and justification.

  • Timeless. The question can and should be revisited again and again.
